Movie Review: Glenn Gould the Conductor -- Great for Oberlin Fans, Too!
Summary: 5 Stars

The first is a gorgeous cantata by Bach, "Widerstehe doch der Sunde." As an added bonus, the singer is legendary countertenor Russell Oberlin -- as far as I can tell, this is one of Oberlin's only appearances on video. Perhaps the only Oberlin appearance that is commercially available.

The second is one of the Brandenburg Concertos (BWV 1050). Glenn Gould is at his most intense during this performance. Like the cantata, this piece was recorded in 1962.

Other highlights include an excerpt of a Glenn Gould interview recorded at Wawa, Ontario (one of his refuges), footage of Glenn Gould playing Beethoven's Pastoral symphony on the piano, and a guest appearance by Sir Nigel Twitt-Thornwaite (one of his alter egos).
