Movie Review: Deep and traditional Tai Chi

This video has opened my eyes reagarding the art of Tai Chi. I was aware of the health benefits of Tai Chi, and that it is an ancient art which millions of people practice every day worldwide. I wasn't aware that the art had so much martial arts history and that it is considered possibly the highest achievement in martial arts. The video has led me to do a lot of reading, and to begin practicing Tai Chi Pushing hands, which is a partner training that eventually will lead to training Tai Chi fighting.

The Chin Na grappling instructed on this video is facinating, and gives me new purpose and excellent intent of mind when I am practicing the postures.The instruction is very clear, and by practicing with a partner I've been able to learn a lot of the Chin Na, which sure comes in handy during Pushing Hands!

Summary of Taiji Chin Na [VHS]

Chin Na is the art of seizing and controlling, and is an element of all Chinese martial arts, including Taijiquan (Tai Chi). For the last fifty years the martial aspects of Taijiquan have been ignored, and the art is now incomplete. Most practitioners no longer understand the martial applications of Taijiquan, or even that it is a martial art.
