VHS Movie Reviews of Saved By the Bell - Classic Collection [VHS]Movie Review: Very nice Summary: 5 StarsI used to watch Saved by the Bell on Saturday mornings when I was a kid. Since the show has been off the air so long (and I don't have cable) I've been thinking about it more and more and wishing that I had taped some of the episodes. I was very happy to have discovered this tape on amazon a few months back. I ordered it back in February and have played it many times over since then. It was cool to go back and see the final high school episode again, and I hadn't gotten to see the college eps when I was a kid since it was only played on cable, so I really enjoyed watching them. The only thing about this tape is that it totally skips over the part of the series where Zach and Kelly got back together and Kelly moved into the same dorm suite as the guys and went straight to the proposal episode. There were also more episodes from the high school series that should have been included in a "classic collection" but all in all, I do give it my highest recommendation rating. Can't do any less for the best teen show there ever was!
Movie Review: It's A'ight Cuz I'm Saved by the Bell! Summary: 5 Stars...THANK GAWD SBTB is available on VHS! Before I slapped [got] this set, my pirated copies from Saturday morning were worn down thinner than Calista Flockhart's bicep, LOL! I mean it when I say that even after 10 years (and after hundreds of viewings) this show NEVER gets old. Although I regret that episodes are no longer in production, (I'm still trying to figure that one out), the edisodes remain timely, fresh, thought-provoking. No one succeeds at the art of serio-comic realism quite like the folks at SBTB. I bust up at the antics of Screech (Dustin "Move over Carrot Top" Diamond) every time! The rest of the kids are great, and who doesn't love Principal "Bustin' Chops" Belding?! Scraping the bottom of the barrel, my only criticism to this boxed set is I don't know HOW on God's Green Earth they could have omitted the totally harrowing "uppers" edisode, in which Jesse becomes a teenage speed freak in order to cope with her full academic and extra-curricular plate at Bayside High (played emphatically by Liz Berkley). I was a high school honor student and drum majorette, so can I relate or can I RELATE?! Liz only topped this performance once, and that was for the hit movie "Showgirls," in which the dame strikes every human emotion imaginable, rivaled only by the strike of an economy-sized Gong. (see also my review on "Showgirls") Move over "My So-Called Life" and "Freaks and Geeks", Saved by the Bell will never die! XOXOXO
Movie Review: As vital as Hamlet!!! Summary: 5 StarsVery rarely does a half hour teen show climb such heights of artistic achievement. I dare you to fine a better portrayal of teen angst, just try to find it pokie, you can't, so just give it up. As any informed viewer would know, Saved by the bell was the training ground for the wonderful Liz Berkley...you can see all the promise that would be fulfilled in the woefully underrated "show girls". And if Screech is not the prototype for the sensitive young male, than who is...I could go on and on, but just watching this wonderful collection is the best way to say hello to excellence... I salute you Mr. Belding!!!
Movie Review: Saved By the Bell Rules! Summary: 5 StarsSaved By the Bell is the best teen show ever made. Thank god a show this cool and funny has a best of hits on video, I just hope they can make it on dvd soon.
Movie Review: Saved by the Bell: All of the Best Episodes on One Tape Summary: 5 StarsEven though the box says there are 3 episodes, there are actully four! If you are a saved by the bell fan, this is for you!The first episode on the tape is the last couple of days at Bayside with the gang. Although the gang is excited about leaving, there is some last minute trouble. At the end, there are many laughs. And during the last couple of minutes of this episodewith the origanial cast, there's a very caring and sensitive moment between Mr. Belding and Zach. The second episode on this tape(which is not mentioned on the box)is the pilot for the collage years. Zach meets his new roomates, and reunites with some old friends. To sum it all up, the guys learn that collage is quite different from what they imagened. The third episode "Marry Me," shares many romantic scenes between Zach and Kelly. And of course this isn't just a smooth perposial, the dean gives them a couple of complications that leads Zach to perpose. The night scene in the girl's room is one of my favorites! And hopefully, you will think so too! The last episode on the tape concludes this magical series. Imagine you're Zach, trying to pull off a wedding all by yourself, with a bride dealing with her three best friends arguing constantly(one of them is an old favorite!) This is all Zach had to deal with in "Wedding Plans." Just to top it off, try to survive a wild bacholar party! This is tape is one of my favorites in my video collection. Now, I regret the days when i called this show stupid. If you found this review helpful, then please click below. Thank you for taking the time to read my review!
