VHS Movie Reviews of Rurouni Kenshin (Between life & Death) Subtitled Episodes 40-43 [VHS]Movie Review: Hiko Told Me to Buy It Summary: 5 StarsYeah this tape is awesome! The subtitled version was exellent of course, and I checked out the dub a lil later and it was fantastic too. Kenshin verus Cho was the first battle on the tape and it was great. Cho's westrn accent in the dub suits him quite well, it goes with his clothes and that mondo do of his. Next on the battle list we got Nenji (Okina) verus Aoshi Shinomori. It was a pretty cool fight between the two, but Aoshi claimed victory through use of his double kodachi technique, the Kaiten Kenbu Rokuren. On the last episode of the tape we get to see more of Hiko training to Kenshin to learn the Final Attack of the Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu. It's a pretty serious episode that showed some light on Kenshin past has a kid. But it has it's funny moments has well when Hiko askes Kenshin to attack him with the Kuzu-ryu-sen.
Movie Review: Slowing of the plot Summary: 4 StarsKenshin has an excellent plot line all throughout the episodes, regardless of this particular video. I enjoyed this set of episodes, but the plot begins to stretch out in a style that is more reminicent of Dragon Ball Z (my least favorite film). It is for this reason that I cannot give this episode set a 5-star rating. Otherwise, the plot line stays in tact and the action begins to get better. Unfortunantly it takes more episodes than any dubbed Kenshin movie so far.
Summary of Rurouni Kenshin (Between life & Death) Subtitled Episodes 40-43 [VHS]Kenshin's swordsmanship has always been the strongest, but he is not a true master of the Hiten Mitsurugi Style. As a young revolutionary, Kenshin abandoned his martial training prematurely, in order to become a killer and tread the dark path of the Battousai. Finally, Kenshin is determined to finish what he started, and is reunited with his former master, Seijuro Hiko.
