Presidents' Homes from Goldhil Home Media International is a video special which was originally created for the Travel Channel and produced in partnership with the National Park Foundation. This unusual architectural travelog takes the viewer upon a unique visual tour through the dwelling places of some of the greatest men of American political history. Viewers are treated to informed and informative tours of Ronald Regan's ranch; Franklin Roosevelt's Springwood Estate; Abraham Lincoln's Springfield home; Theodore Roosevelt's Sagamore Hill; and Dwight D. Eisenhower's Eisenhower Farm. Combining superb camera work with an amazing narrative of history and trivia, President's Homes provides an amazing glimpse into the places that shaped and sheltered our presidential leaders' lives. The Travel Channel invites you to take an intriguing look inside the homes of some of the most distinguished men the world has ever known. We will visit the estates of founding fathers, patriots and heroes. History springs to life as we see where these U.S. Presidents were born, where they worked, where they raised their families and where they grew to become powerful world leaders. Ronald Reagan?s Ranch: Rancho Del Cielo, Santa Barbara CA: The 688-acre "Rancho del Cielo" has a rich history that dates back to Spanish settlers. In 1974, during his second term as governor of California, Reagan bought the 100-year-old ranch. Reagan himself remodeled the adobe house with the assistance of a ranch hand. World leaders such as Margaret Thatcher, Queen Elizabeth, and Mikhail Gorbachev also visited the ranch. Reportedly Gorbachev was unimpressed with the site because he came expecting a palatial retreat in the European style, instead he found a humble, yet comfortable working ranch. Franklin Delano Roosevelt: Springwood Estate in Hyde Park, NY: The Travel Channel takes a tour of Springwood, the palatial estate of Franklin D. Roosevelt in Hyde Park, New York. This is where FDR was born, and it remained his official residence throughout his illustrious life. Now maintained by the National Park Service, the 35-room mansion is located next to the FDR Presidential Library. Abraham Lincoln: Home in the town of Springfield, IL: Abraham Lincoln grew to prominence in the town of Springfield, Illinois. The Travel Channel will visit the 9-room Lincoln home where Lincoln and his wife Mary raised their family. We?ll also tour the Lincoln Tomb, the secret "Lincoln Vault," as well as the Lincoln-Herndon Law Office where Lincoln practiced law. Theodore Roosevelt: Sagamore Hill Long Island, NY: Located on the north side of Long Island at Oyster Bay is Sagamore Hill, the famous home of Theodore Roosevelt. National Park Rangers will lead Travel Channel viewers through the 28-room mansion that contains many original artifacts and furniture that belonged to our 26th President. Dwight D. Eisenhower: Eisenhower Farm in Gettysburg, PA: The Eisenhower farm in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania is the only place President and Mrs. Dwight D. Eisenhower ever truly called home. We?ll tour the 11-room house and try out Ike?s skeet range and famous Putting Green.
