Movie Review: Motel Hello.....

I rather enjoy this old horror movie. After having seen it a few nights ago on a movie channel, I decided to write a review. Pretty good horror film for the time. Motel Hell centers around a farmer called Farmer Vincent who runs a remote hotel. However, when people check in, they don't check out. Not all die for Farmer Vincent has a very special garden of his own..... people buried alive up to their necks with their vocal cords cut out so they can not scream or talk and their heads are covered with burlap sacks! As a kind of rip off of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Farmer Vincent smokes meat..... human meat! There are some cool scenes in this movie for a low budget horror movie. A good movie for fans of older horror movies.

Movie Review: Where's John Waters when you need him?
Summary: 2 Stars

I've seen this film three times now and every time I see it I can't help but fantasize about how wonderful this movie would have been if it'd been written and directed by John Waters and starring the cast of PINK FLAMINGOS. Can you just imagine how great Divine would have been in the Ida Smith role!

As it is the whole thing is just kinda so-so. So boring and so slow moving. Farmer Vincent kills travelers and makes them into meat to sell to other travelers. I understand that this is suppose to be a dry, black comedy but it's just too dry for me. It's kinda like a mix between EATING RAOUL, MOTHER'S DAY and SLAUGHTERHOUSE.

Movie Review: Motel Hell and Pizza, a winning combination!
Summary: 5 Stars

This movie stands out as so unique and has such creative scenes, I loved it! I used to meet with friends on a monthly basis, order pizza and wine and have monthly "Motel Hell" parties. We loved the lines, the jokes and the creative way farmer Vincent harvested his meat. His means of obtaining his victims, with the cutout cow on the roadway was hilarious! And then to see him fall in love with the most innocent of his victims, heart-rending! What a fun movie!

Summary of Motel Hell

Motel Hell is a gruesome but somewhat tongue-in-cheek bit of rural schlock along the lines of 1974's Deranged, although slicker and less effective. Former Western star Rory Calhoun plays Farmer Vincent, a country hotel keeper (free samples of jerky at the front desk) whose line of smoked meats turns his customers into unwitting cannibals. The movie's got some genuinely creeped-out ideas (a backyard garden of victims, buried up to their necks?), but the execution is pedestrian and the humor pretty square. Onetime cultural icon Wolfman Jack has a few scenes as a TV preacher, for no apparent reason. --Robert Horton
