Movie Review: King of the Ring 1997
Summary: 4 Stars
This 1997 King Of The Ring, when I thought is not goin to be a
great PPV, but it's good but not great.
1.Ahmed Johnson vs Hunter Hearst Helmsly on the 1st Semifinals
of the King of the Ring.
This is an alright opener. I just dont like seeing Hunter wins.
Chyna always interfered in Hunter's matches.

2.Mankind vs Jerry "the king" Lawler, the 2nd Semfinal match.
Why do they make these 2 facing each other at the tournament.
Anyways, I know Mankind is gonna win. Seems like Lawler doesn't
have a chance against Foley.And this match is longer than the
1st one. It'll gat boring' til the ending.

3.Goldust vs Crush.
Why's this on th PPV? But I think this match not as boring as the 2nd one.But it still boring.

4.Hart Foundation vs LOD & Psycho Sid.
They should take out the 3rd match and make it a tag titles
match and Sid will battle Bret one on one instead making Bret injured. since Hitman cost Sid the title at Wrestlemania.
WEll, about this match, it's good, but I don't want Hart
Foundation win. This is Sid's last PPV.

5.Mankind vs Hunter Hearst Helmsly, The Finals of the King of
the Ring.
This is the begining of their rivalry. They both fought through
Canadian Stampede and Summerslam, the Steel Cage match. Mankind
got beat so bad after the match and still crawling out of the
aisle. Hunter wins the King of the Ring? Not so good. The
match is good though. Like the last 10 minutes.

6.HBK vs Stone Cold Steve Austin.
I thought this is the Main Event and I thought The Hart Foundation is gonna interfered in this match. This is the match
of the night. But it turned out to be a Double DQ. They didn't
stabbed each other on the back.Ya know what I meant, right?

7.WWF Championship:Undertaker vs Faarooq.
People online kept sayin the Diesel vs King Mabel and this
match one of the worst Main Event, but this match not as bad. I
know for sure Taker is gonna win. Then Ahmed came down after the
match and attack Taker. I think this is his worst rivalry for
Taker with the Nations and Ahmed.Anyways, this match is good.
No dought about it.
Well, I think this PPV is good now. Only the 2 Main Events and
the 6 man tag match.Well The King Of The Ring final match was OK. It's gonna be a 5 star PPV.

Horrible opener that couldn't have been any worst if Hogan was in it. Ahmed is only a shell of his old self. Triple H wins in a 100% DUD
Semi-Final Match in the King Of The Ring Tournament:
Mankind V. Jerry "The King" Lawler
Another horrible match that is somewhat watchable because of Foley's bumps. Mankind wins. *
Crush V. Goldust
Why the hell is this on the card? Can you say "Pointless Filler"? Horrible match will no real action. Goldust wins. 3/4*
Legion Of Doom & Psycho Sid
V.
Owen Hart, Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart, & British Bulldog
At least this was a ok match. Some good action and this is actually Sid's last WWF Pay-Per-View. The Hart Foundation Win. **1/2 (Personal Note: I never really liked Sid as a in-ring performer. I always thought that most of his matches were pretty dull. However, I have always loved Sid's interviews and that's why I liked Sid. Sid was probably the best promo guy in the business of a time there)

Pretty boring until the last ten minutes or so. It got really exciting and Triple H is the 1997 King Of The Ring! However with a very boring start and middle the rating will still be pretty low. Say a...**1/4
Stone Cold Steve Austin V. Shawn Michaels
Awesome, Awesome, Awesome wrestling match. My favorite match in 1997 and should have won match of the year but the Hell In The Cell match won it. Awesome wrestling back and forth and if there would have been a clean finish (it ending in a Double Disqualification) this would be a five star match. However because of the cheap ending I will give it a ****3/4. Awesome match. I really do recommend seeing it.
WWF Championship:
Undertaker (Champion) V. Faarooq
Why the hell is Undie wrestling a midcarder for the richest prize of them all? I don't get it. No wonder why WCW was kicking Vince's ass for two years. This match was horrible and had very little action. Undie wins. *3/4 After the match Ahmed comes down and beats up Undie to set up the WWF Title match at Canadian Stampede. What the hell? Another midcarder. Oh well, Ahmed would hurt his knee again and Vader would take his place.
Overall, a very boring show. However, the final ten minutes of the tournament final was great and the Austin/Michaels match was better than their WrestleMania match.
