Movie Review: House of Dark Shadows AWSOME
Summary: 5 Stars
This movie is a take off of the original daily TV series from 1966 to 1972
The TV show was one of a kind as is the movie.
If your in to horror, drama, & romance with suprising plot twists, & turns,
You will enjoy this movie. It is well written, directed, and acted.
Here's a scoop.
Director Tim Burton, & Johny Dep are re doing this show as a new movie to be in theaters fall of 2009 with Johny Dep in the starring role of Barnabis Collins.
I give this movie 5 stars for it's originality and captivating story.
If you've never seen Dark Shadows the series, It is available at both Block buster online and Net Flix on line. I highly recomend that everyone watch it.!!
Movie Review: with caution...

I was so happy to see this film on demand. Warner Bros. really needs to get on the ball and release the DS movies with special features and the long lost director's cut of Night of DS. I downloaded this film to my TiVo. I was amazed with the clarity of the print. I have the VHS and Laserdisc versions and this is clearly a new transfer. This version has little or no dust and imperfections, as the VHS and Laserdisc do. I have some issues with this version though...1. It's widescreen. Dan Curtis hated Widescreen and didn't like to shoot with in it (according to the Burnt Offerings commentary). They cropped it, they took off a lot at the bottom and a little at the top. 2. There is some digital noise at the beginning with the red titles. 3. There is too much red. The flesh tones look off. Other than those, this is the best version out there until there is a DVD released. It would be great if amazon got Night of Dark Shadows too, just don't crop it. Movie Review: Coming soon to DVD

I read recently on a Dark Shadows convention website that the 2 Dark Shadows films will soon be released on a double DVD, both restored!
Dark Shadows is one of the best TV shows ever(IMOHO). Dan Curtis made a HUUUUGE mistake in the 'House of Dark Shadows' movie by killing off nearly the entire Collins clan. i think that maybe he was tired of it all, and had no idea of the cult-like following that would develop around this series.
Too bad.

I only just received this in the past week but is was so very much worth the wait. I am thrilled with the quality and clarity of this video. The tracking is excellent, the picture quality is clear and vivid. I am pleased beyond words.
