The awkwardness & fascination of this pathetically sensative character(Cartaxo) brought back memories of my own adolescence. I was glued to the screen. Her vulnerability & innocence was painful to watch, yet I was touched by the films honesty. The ending is quite sad and unexpected, but isnt that what makes notable film?I never forgot this film, nor how it effected me. This is a film that I wish I had taped when I first saw it in 88'.
A must see for lovers of the romatically bazzaar.

Having spent my "formative" years in Brazil, I have to say this movie tugs at my "coracao"(heart).I would LOVE to see more work (movies) from this talented director.
