VHS Movie Reviews of Goin' Coconuts [VHS]Movie Review: Kenneth Mars is hysterical! A very charming film. Summary: 4 StarsThis is actually a very enjoyable film, with Kenneth Mars turning in a VERY funny performance.
Donny and Marie Osmond are such wonderful musical talents, I only wish the film had incorporated more of them singing.
It's a lot like the old Elvis movies. It's just fun to watch!
I only wish this would be released on DVD...
Movie Review: Goin Coconuts Summary: 2 StarsThe VHS took quite a while to arrive. I had ordered 5 other items at the same time and it arrived almost 3 weeks later than all the others, I actually had given up on it's showing up. The video itself rolls quite a bit at the end of the video when played. However, with the age of the movie, I will grant them some slack. I was disappointed in service and the product. I will not buy another movie from this seller.
Movie Review: Goin' Coco for "Goin' Coconuts" Summary: 5 StarsSomeone please tell me why this title isn't available on DVD format??? My children and I loved this movie! A great whacky, adventure, musical/comedy! I can still remember the original, classic Donny & Marie show from the '70's. This movie is full of the same humor; so if you want a taste of nostalgia, and want a feel-good movie, with feel-good music, and whacky humor, I strongly recomend "Goin' Coconuts"!

Movie Review: It's good Summary: 3 StarsYou're not reading this, and you're not considering buying this unless you're already a Donny and Marie fan. It's worth having and it's worth watching. It features Donny and Marie just as you remember them from "The Donny and Marie" show." Both turn in good acting jobs. Donny is greatly loveable, just like always, and Marie is cute. The story and dialog, etc, are good and enjoyable. Some of the supporting actors are well known and add to the show. I wish the movie had more performance, and that's why I only give it 3 stars. You get only three almost full length performances. The movie opens with about a 2 minute song of typical Donny and Marie song and dance material. In the middle you get maybe a 2-3 minute solo performance by Donny on the piano, with cutsey mugging by Marie. At the end you get a great 5-10 minute production number of the Hawaiian war chant, featuring some vigorous, surprising, and very good Donny dancing, Marie doing a kind of juggling trick, Donny singing the lyric in Hawaiian, and Marie hula dancing, all great stuff. You have also heard this song in the "Enchanted Tiki Room" at Disneyland and you've seen Miss Piggy, Animal, Pigs and Penguins perform it on the Muppet Show. It's worth it.
