Movie Review: Fun step routine if you can get past the noise...
Summary: 3 Stars

I like Gay Gasper, she is a friendly, enthusiastic instructor and a national aerobics champion which shows in this video. This 2 tape set contains an intermediate and advanced step routine, both are short and contain the same warmup. The step routines are fun and interesting and might take a few tries to get down. But Gay's cuing is very good which helps. One the background exercisers, shows easier modifications as well. The setting is a little dark but I didn't find it distracting, and the music is high energy which fits the workout.

Unfortunately for me I could not get past the noisy participants, the whooping from a couple of the background exercisers drove me batty which is too bad because it is a great short step workout. So if you are one that is easily annoyed with that type of thing, steer clear from this video. I don't mind some whooping but here it seemed excessive, at least to me. If you are not bothered by that sort of thing and are looking for short step workouts, this would be a good choice. Gay is a talented instructor and I wish she had more videos.

Movie Review: Fast, Easy, and Compact Workouts!
Summary: 5 Stars

This set is the second of the Gay Gasper two-tape series I bought. Both workouts are very fast-paced and are over before you know it. I estimated a 6-minute warm up, 13 minute workout and 5 minute cool down for each tape. If you are a busy person and find you do not have enough time for most workout tapes that take 50 minutes to an hour and a half to complete, these tapes make an effective alternative. You get a stimulating workout in half the time. The advanced step workout, in particular, makes you break out a major sweat from the first step to the last. I like to combine these step videos with Gasper's abs and buns tapes to get a well-balanced 50 minute workout. The only problem I have with this set is that her warmup and cool down routines are the same for both tapes. The routines weren't even re-taped, they are exactly the same. Changing them up for either the advanced or intermediate tape would have added more variety.

Movie Review: Two of my favorites!
Summary: 5 Stars

The workout is fast paced and has a great deal of variety. I have done it over 50 times and I'm still not bored with it. I would NOT recommend these tapes for your first step experience. There is little (to no) instruction given. You just jump right into an advanced step class.

Gay is fun and energetic while remaining down to earth. No phoney-baloney peppiness from her! She is one of the best callers that I have ever seen and really seems to love what she is doing.

I can't even loan these to my friends. I use it at least once a week.
